Cost Types¶
Overview¶
Cost Types are a unique entity to the GUS project hierarchy, they can be thought of as a named group of object codes. Cost Types allow for aggregated reporting of several related object codes. The idea of Cost Types provide for another level of reporting.

Utilizing a Cost Type¶
A cost type is required when setting up a sub for a project.
For example:
If travel related expenses occur on a variety of object codes, in several sub accounts on several projects within the same account-fund; a cost type which contains all the travel related object codes can be set up and added to subs that are expecting to see travel expenses.
