Equipment in GUS gives you an overview of UCSB equipment items that your department owns, and access to any insurance that was purchased for equipment.
Access your department’s equipment inventory in the GUS menu Equipment > Inventory. To view details for an existing item, double click. To add a new item, click on “New” at the bottom of the form.
For a new or existing item’s details, you will be presented with a dialog that has 3 tabs at the top: Inventory, EIMR/Insurance, and Source Info.

If an equipment item has an Equipment Inventory Modification Request (EIMR) associated with it, the details can be modified in the second tab of the dialog. Add and remove EIMR history entries with the plus (+) and minus (-) symbols. To read more about equipment with EIMRs, please see the Business & Financial Services page on EIMRs.
The bottom of the same tab provides you with space to add insurance information for this equipment. Similar to EIMRs, add and remove insurance entries with the plus (+) and minus (-) symbols.
Funding source info is accessed on the third tab in the dialog.
